Terms & Conditions

Last updated October 8, 2026

These terms cover commissioning furniture from Chairman and Board, buying through this site, and the text messages we send to customers who ask for them. By using this site or placing an order you agree to them.

Who we are

Chairman and Board designs and builds made-to-order seating in High Point, North Carolina, United States. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Chairman and Board, and "you" means the person or business using this site or commissioning a piece.

Commissions, quotes and payment

  • Every piece is made to order. Prices shown on this site are for the configuration described and may change before an order is placed.
  • Payment is taken through our payment provider at checkout. We do not store full card numbers.
  • An order is accepted once payment is confirmed and we acknowledge it. If a piece cannot be made as ordered, we will tell you and refund any amount already paid for it.
  • Discount codes and account pricing are applied at checkout and cannot be combined unless we say so in writing.

Made-to-order pieces and customer's own material

Because each chair is built to your specification, changes can only be made before production begins. If you supply your own material (COM), you are responsible for its suitability, quantity and delivery to the workshop; we will confirm yardage and shipping details before we cut. Natural materials vary in grain, tone and texture, and those variations are part of the piece rather than a fault.

Lead times, shipping and delivery

Lead times are estimates given in good faith and begin when your order is confirmed and any material has arrived at the workshop. Delivery dates are arranged with you, and someone must be available to receive the piece. Risk passes to you on delivery. Please inspect the piece on arrival and tell us about any damage within seven days.

Returns, changes and guarantee

Made-to-order pieces are not returnable simply because you have changed your mind. If a piece arrives damaged, or differs from the specification we confirmed, contact us and we will repair or remake it. Our frames carry a lifetime guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use; upholstery, finishes and normal wear are excluded. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, and nothing limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has access to it. We may close an account that is used to abuse the site, our messaging, or other customers.

Website content and intellectual property

The designs, photography, text and marks on this site belong to Chairman and Board or are used with permission. You may browse, share links and use the site for your own purposes; please do not copy our photography or designs for commercial use without written permission.

Availability and limitation of liability

We keep this site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be free of interruption or error, and we may suspend it for maintenance. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected with this site or an order is limited to the amount you paid for the piece in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
